It is an attractive, low growing cactus with pale yellow/green flowers. This plant has been discovered many years ago, however description of it was lost and therefore many people thought that this plant does not exist at all!

This cactus is highly endemic to its native habitat due to grazing and overcollection of the plant. It occurs in less than five localities in Mexico. Flowers appear in spring and summer, small and deep magenta in color.
