Description
Gymnocalycium piltziorum typically has a globular to slightly cylindrical shape, with a diameter ranging from about 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm). The body color is usually a dark green to grayish-green. One of the most striking features of Gymnocalycium piltziorum is its spination. The cactus has relatively short, stout spines that can vary in color from white to pale gray or brown. Typically, there are 5 to 7 radial spines per areole. The central spines are usually absent or minimal, which contributes to the plant’s neat and orderly appearance.
