Description
Leuchtenbergia principis, also known as the Agave Cactus, is a unique, slow-growing cactus native to Mexico. It features long, triangular, bluish-green tubercles that resemble agave leaves, giving it an unusual appearance. The plant produces large, fragrant, yellow flowers that bloom at the top of mature specimens. Over time, it develops a thick taproot and can reach up to 70 cm in height. Leuchtenbergia principis thrives in well-draining soil, full sun, and requires minimal watering, making it highly drought-tolerant.
Care guide:
Soil: Well drained
Watering: No water in winter. Weekly in spring/summer.
