Description
Gymnocactus horripilus (syn. Turbinicarpus horripilus) is a small, globular cactus native to Mexico. It is characterized by its dark green, tuberculate body covered in dense, curved spines that give it a “bristly” appearance. The plant produces striking pink to magenta flowers, often with a lighter center, blooming in spring. It thrives in well-draining, rocky soil, full sun to partial shade, and requires minimal watering.
Care guide:
Soil: Well drained
Watering: No water in winter. Weekly in spring/summer.
Sun exposure: Full sun, partial shade.
