Emory’s barrel cactus typically has a solitary, barrel-shaped stem that can grow up to several feet tall. The stem is ribbed and covered in sharp spines, which serve as protection against herbivores. This cactus species is well-adapted to arid desert environments and can withstand extreme heat and drought conditions.
