Relatively small species that grows up to 7cm in diameter. This cactus typically grows as a solitary, spherical or globular plant. Unlike most of the stenocacti that have numerous thin wavy ribs this species has few ribs that are thick at base.

Soil: Very well drained, non organic soil.

Watering: Once a week in summer time, no water in winter.

Sun exposure: Direct sunlight, but can tolerate shade.
