Echinocereus reichenbachii subs. Baileyi

This very interesting species was collected in August 1906 by Vernon Bailey, for whom it was named, in Wichita Mountains, Oklaoma. The following August it flowered and then died. It was  supposed that this was only collection known, but while re-studying the genus, it was found that a plant sent by Mr. Merkel from Oklahoma flowered in July 1908. It was later found that this species are indeed very common in Wichita mountains.  Our plant is quite old it was sown in 2010 making it 15 years old.

Care guide:

Soil: Well drained

Watering:  No water in winter. Weekly in spring/summer.

Sun exposure: Full sun, partial shade.

Photographed in 11x11cm pot, plant will be sent bare root.
