This striking cactus is known for its vivid, deep red to orange-red flowers, which appear in late spring to early summer. The flowers are tubular and often measure 3-6 cm in length. The plant itself is cylindrical and typically green or bluish-green, with prominent ribs and spines.

Soil: Very well drained, non organic soil.

Watering: Once a week in summer time, no water in winter.

Sun exposure: Direct sunlight, but can tolerate shade.
