A rare plant Bolson de mapimi (Mexico). It has its body densely covered in spines that are interlocking irregulary. Flowers emerge from the apex of the plant and are brown in colour. Low grafted plant.

Turbinicarpus Schmiedickeanus subs. Macrochele is a slow growing dwarf cactus, usually solitary but can become branched with age. Like other Turbinicarpus it has a tendency to flower when young. Flowers are small, white and plant can several flushes per season. Spines are soft and somewhat papery.
