An extremely rare cactus, one of the largest species of the genus, which can reach up to 30 cm. It consists of long tubercles that are arranged as in a greyish-green rosette, sometimes curved and with a pointed tip, in a typical elongated triangular shape. Yellow flowers appear late in autum usually in october.

Soil: Very well drained, non organic soil.

Watering: Once a week in summer time, no water in winter.

Sun exposure: Direct sunlight, but can tolerate shade.
