Strombocactus disciformis is an extremely rare cactus and due to this experiencing extremely rapid decline in nature because of illegal collection.It is only found in 19 localities over 4,500 sq meters in Mexico. This small and slow growing plant has beautiful white flowers that emerge mid-summer.

Strombocactus disciformis subsp. jarmilae
Strombocactus disciformis subsp. jarmilae is characterized by its small, flattened, disc-shaped stems that usually have distinctive tubercles or ribs. The stems are typically green or bluish-green in color. This subspecies produces small, usually yellow or cream flowers that bloom from the top of the stems.
