This is one of the smallest cacti in the world, only growing up to 8cm high in cultivation. Flowers are small and straw yellow to green in color. It is not a short lived plant, and once matured it stops growing, however provides regular flushes of flowers.

Echinocereus x roetteri is a spectacular, naturally-occurring hybrid (mountains of West Texas, New Mexico, and Northern Mexico) between two cold hardy barrel cactus, Echinocereus coccineus and Echinocereus dasyacanthus. The 6-8″ tall stalks can either be solitary or basally branched, depending on the plant.
