    Echinocactus Grusonii is extremely common in cultivation, however its natural habitat has been nealy destroyed by agriculture and urban developement. It is estimated that very few echinocactus grusonii are left in nature. This plant is extremely popular in southern countries where it can be seen grown in xeric gardens.
