This is a very slowly growing species. Generally solitary but old specimens may cluster from the base.

Gymnocalycium Striglianum usually a solitary cactus however can branch out with age. It flowers in may/july bearing bell shaped flowers that can last for several days.

Turbinicarpus Schmiedickeanus subs. Macrochele is a slow growing dwarf cactus, usually solitary but can become branched with age. Like other Turbinicarpus it has a tendency to flower when young. Flowers are small, white and plant can several flushes per season. Spines are soft and somewhat papery.
