Soil: Very well drained, non organic soil.
Watering: Once a week in summer time, no water in winter.
Sun exposure: Direct sunlight, but can tolerate shade.
This cactus is native to Bolivia and North-West Argentina. It is also known as achakana, consumed by locals as a substitute for potatoes.

Gymnocalycium eurypleurum is a variable low growing species, especially for spination. Some plants have minimal spination while others seem quite heavily armed. Flowers in pure white flowers in summer time.

It is an attractive, low growing cactus with pale yellow/green flowers. This plant has been discovered many years ago, however description of it was lost and therefore many people thought that this plant does not exist at all!
